After seeing the mystical stopping of water YouTube video earlier this week, Brusspup decided to show us all how it was done. By taking a speaker and playing different frequencies on it, you can make it look like water is frozen in mid air. You can even make water reverse flow! All in all it’s a pretty cool effect, and could be really fun to try out at home! Hit the jump to see the water freezing action and prepare to have your mind blown!

Thanks to Rick Ross the Boss because he’s probably the only one smart enough in my family to pull this off. MIT degree say whaaa?!

There is always some dick who says fake, But any way we need to have a peer review and have at least two independent labs reproduce the results Before we can confirm or deny his claim . Video lies and so do people.

  It doesn’t actually happen, it’s just that the frequency of 24Hz also coincides with the frame rate of the camera, which records 24 frames a second, making the water look like it’s still. If you were to do it live, you’d just have a wobbly stream of water.

frame rate of the camera is in sync with the frequency of the speaker. or something like that. Basically it’s an optical illusion.

Of course it’s not actually stopping or reversing the flow, but it still looks really cool.
