Seen above is the Chibkart, a real life version of the Mario Kart. Made by MIT student Charles Guan, this bad boy is a four-wheel drive ulta-compact go-kart with 100mm custom hub motor wheels. The frame is 34″ long and 18″ wide (870mm x 460mm). Which means that if you have hard wood floor or tile, you can host your own in house rainbow roads. Apparently, if you build it yourself the Chibkart will set you back around $1750, but imagine when these babies can be mass produced! Hit the jump for the video of the Chib/ Mario Kart in action!
Thanks to Baxter. I know he would probably win in a one on one race. Seeing as I would probably go straight into a wall off of a banana peel!
